Honourable Alison Redford QC
Premier of Alberta
Alison Redford was elected leader of the Alberta Progressive Conservative Party on October 1, 2011 and sworn-in as Alberta's 14th premier on October 7, 2011.
Born on March 7, 1965 in Kitimat, British Columbia she grew up all over Canada and overseas before settling in Calgary as a teenager. She completed her post-secondary education at the University of Saskatchewan College of Law in 1988.
Redford began her political career in the 1980s, when her focus of expertise was advising the Secretary of State for External Affiars. Despite returning to Calgary in the 90s to open her own law firm, she continued to advise both Canadian and Australian governments on constitutional and legal reform issues. She was chosen as one of four International Election Commissioners to administer Afghanistan's first parliamentary elections in 2005. She has also undertaken assignments in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Namibia, Uganda, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Vietnam and the Philippines.
Alison Redford was elected MLA for the constituency of Calgary-Elbow on March 3, 2008 and named Minister of Justice and Attorney General on March 12, 2008. In January 2010, she was also named political minister for Calgary.

Judge Bhatia has worked, since his arrival in Canada over 40 years ago, to promote a broad understanding of Canadian values at local, national and international levels. He has been a citizenship judge, sat on the Canadian Human Rights Commission, and published a multicultural newspaper, always espousing the benefits of national unity.
He is the recipient of the Order of Canada, and several other prestigious awards. He has been described as an unabashed patriot and an exemplary role model, and has been recognised for creating "a broader understanding of the universal values of non-violence, compassion and peace in Canada."

Dr. Glenn Feltham assumed the role of NAIT's sixth president and CEO on March 1, 2011. His extensive background includes law, taxation and finance, teaching and institutional administration. In addition, owing to a unique family history, he brings to NAIT a keen interest in the role of entrepreneurism in strengthening the Alberta and Canadian economy, as well as a deep appreciation of the value of community.
